
PADI Rescue Diver - €380.00 - (Includes Manual & Certification where available)

The PADI Rescue Diver course teaches you techniques to avoid and manage problems and improve
your confidence as a diver. During the course you will become a better buddy by enhancing your
ability to identify potential problems and by practicing dive emergency protocol. The subject is
serious but the training is fun - many divers tell us the PADI Rescue Diver course was their favourite!
If you conduct the entire curriculum of the course whilst at Utina the fee covers the full cost of the
course using study, classroom presentations, knowledge reviews, final exam, eleven in-water
practice/demonstrations and two final rescue scenarios and certification on completion. As part
of the course cost Utina will provide any other necessary equipment. You may wish to purchase
other personal equipment for your own future use and Utina will be please to guidance and provide
equipment from our store.
The PADI Rescue Diver course consists of five main phases:-

Self rescue

Recognizing and managing stress in other divers

Emergency management and equipment

Rescuing panicked divers

Rescuing unresponsive divers
The PADI Rescue Diver course prepares you to deal with dive emergencies, minor and major, using a variety of techniques. Through knowledge development and rescue exercises, you learn what to look for and how to respond. During rescue scenarios, you put into practice your knowledge and skills.
Prerequisites and Course Requirements:-

Age Requirement - 15 years but 12 years or older for Junior Rescue Diver

Course Prerequisites - Adventure Diver/Junior Adventure Diver (or qualifying certification) with completed Underwater Navigation Dive; EFR Primary and Secondary Care training (or qualifying training) within 24 months

Time Commitment - Approximately 24 hours of study plus in-water practise and scenarios and is a total of 3-5 days. The cost of the course includes the Rescue Diver Crew Pack (Rescue Mask, Manual, Rescue Slate and DVD in a PADI Zipper Wallet plus certification and is good value. Should you wish to complete the academic part of the course before coming to Utina via online learning, then there is a separate fee payable directly to PADI of €216. If you wish to do this please contact us and we will guide you through the process and any other information you may request.
The Crew Pack can be sent to your home address at a small additional cost so that you can begin the theory part of your course before you start your holiday in Gozo!
Please Note:
You’ll also need to have successfully completed the Emergency 1st Response® program or a sanctioned program in CPR and First Aid within the past 24 months. Utina Diving College Ltd has Instructors who are qualified to conduct both the EFR Primary & Secondary Care and the Child EFR Courses. Equipment Hire is not included.
