Open Water Course - €425 - (With Ultimate Crewpack, Certification, Manual, eRDPML and PADI SMB)

This is the certification course needed to dive safely anywhere in the world with a certified buddy. You will be qualified to dive to a maximum depth of 18 metres.  All materials can be provided for a flexible home study option and knowledge review sessions at your convenience or, if you prefer, you can also complete the theory part of the course On-Line! This option is at an additional cost payable directly to PADI EMEA, which is currently £110.00 or € equivalent. To join this option click he PADI e-Learning Logo at the top of the page(our store reference number is S32064). There are 5 Confined Water sessions and 4 Open Water Sessions and a Final Exam to demonstrate your knowledge and so gain your certification.


Minimum Age:


Participants must be over the age of 15 years and will have to complete a satisfactory medical form. We are also happy to conduct Open Water Diver Referral Programs whereby you complete some or all of the theory and Confined Water sessions at a facility near to your home and then be referred to us to complete the Open Water Sessions and any uncompleted sections. There is a Junior version for younger students who are aged 10 years and above up to and including age 15.

Open Water Course Referrals:


​​This is where you would normally complete the Confined Water part of your course locally where you live either in a pool or similar environment and then arrange for the remainder of your course - usually the Open Water Dives, with Utina. The cost of the referral is:- €275.00 - please remember to ensure that the referring Instructor provides you with all the necessary documentation, including your course manual and that you bring it with you.

Course Requirements:


Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit and is comfortable in water can enrol in the PADI Open Water Course.  If you are between 10 and 14 or have a child between these ages, there is a PADI Junior Open Water Diver program. You also need to be able to swim 200 metres (or 300 metres with a snorkel) and float float for a period of 10 minutes.

The PADI Open Water Course programs covers:


​Throughout the course you will learn the fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment and techniques and of course by successfully completing the Confined Water and Open Water sessions as well as the knowledge reviews and the final exam. You will also learn about and practise air management.



PADI programs are performance based and not time based. You will proceed as you demonstrate mastery of the course skills. This allows you to work at a pace that is comfortable to you. You will need between 3 and 5 days to complete the course.


Course Materials:


The PADI Open Water Manual and the Recreational Dive Planner (RDP) are a requirement and included in the course price, although we will give you a short introduction to dive computers. Please contact us so that we can arrange for manual to be sent to you, at a small cost, so that you can start your studies prior to arriving in Gozo so that you will have more time for your holiday and diving.  We also include a PADI Training logbook to record your training.
