PADI Underwater Naturalist – €100.00

The PADI Underwater Naturalist Specialty course is for you if you are interested in marine life. It introduces you to the underwater aquatic environment and will help develop safe and responsible aquatic life interaction diving techniques. Here in Gozo there are some wonderful dive sites that complement the basics of this speciality course.

Course Requirements:

  • PADI Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver certification (or qualifying certification from another organization)
  • Minimum age: 10 years old

PADI Underwater Naturalist program covers:

You will learn underwater naturalist dive planning, it's organisation, it's procedures, techniques and potential problems. You will also get an overview of the major aquatic life groupings, interactions and factual information that dispel negative myths. You will put this information into practice during two open water dives.

Recommended Course Hours: 12

Minimum Open Water Training: two dives over one day

Speciality manual and log insert and are at an additional cost.

The warm and crystal clear blue waters around the island of Gozo offer perfect diving conditions. Divers from all over the world enjoy exploring the tunnels, caves, grottos, reefs and spectacular scenery abundant with marine life as well as the 260 foot-long wreck of the MV Xlendi, an ex- Malta - Gozo ferry scuttled in a diver an environmentally friendly way of the coast of Xatt L'Ahmar in November 1999, the superb tugboat the Rozi, the El Faroud and the famous ship used in the making of the film Popeye in 1979 popularly known as the Popeye Barge just of Anchor Bay. Other dive sites include Alexanders Cave, Santa Maria Caves, Lantern Point on Comino and the Cathedral Cave and Coral Cave at Dwerja and only add to the Gozo diving experience.
