Utina Diving College Ltd is a PADI Five Star Gold Palm IDC Centre and prides itself on its friendly professional attitude to diving. The warm and crystal clear blue waters around the island of Gozo offer perfect diving conditions. Divers from all over the world enjoy exploring the tunnels, caves, grottos, reefs and spectacular scenery abundant with marine life as well as the 260 foot-long wreck of the MV Xlendi, an ex- Malta - Gozo ferry scuttled in a diver an environmentally friendly way of the coast of Xatt L'Ahmar in November 1999, the superb tugboat the Rozi, the El Faroud and the famous ship used in the making of the film Popeye in 1979 popularly known as the Popeye Barge just of Anchor Bay. Other dive sites include Alexanders Cave, Santa Maria Caves, Lantern Point on Comino and the Cathedral Cave and Coral Cave at Dwerja and only add to the Gozo diving experience.

We can arrange part or all of your transfers from the airport to your accommodation. Just let us know your flight numbers and details, where you are staying and how many in your party. We can also arrange Car or Jeep Hire for your stay at competitive rates. Remember to bring your driving licence with you.

PADI Advanced Open Water Diver -  €235.00 or £172.63

Do you want to improve or enhance your diving skills? The core areas of the Advanced Open Water Course are experience of deep and navigation dives as well as three other elective dives. This course provides participants with experience of different specialist areas. This course is based upon student interest, instructor recommendations, and dive sites.

On certification as an Advanced Open Water diver you will be certified to dive to a maximum depth of 30 metres in conditions that you were trained in.

Note: PADI Advanced Open Water Divers at least 15 years of age can enrol in PADI Wreck or Deep Diver Specialty courses and continue on to the PADI Rescue Diver course.

Course requirements:

  • PADI Open Water Diver certification (or qualifying certification from another organization)
  • Minimum age: 15 (12 for PADI Junior Advanced Open Water Diver)
  • The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver program covers:
  • Five Adventure Dives, including the Deep Adventure dive, Underwater Navigator Adventure Dive and three of the following:- Altitude Diver, Boat Diver, Drift Diver, Deep Diver, Night Diver,
  • Dry Suit Diver, Dive Propulsion Vehicle,
  • Multilevel Diver, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Search and Recovery,
  • Underwater Naturalist, Underwater Videographer,
  • Underwater Photographer, Underwater Navigator,
  • AWARE Fish Identification, Wreck Diver

Minimum Open Water Training: five dives over two days
