Welcome to News Update from Utina Diving

This is where we tell you what is happening at Utina during 2012. March sees PADI Platinum Course Director - Clive Albon returning to Utina to run another IDC (Instructor Developement Course) followed by the Instructor Examination in Malta. This will be in conjunction with Utina Staff. Clive will follow this with running aTechnical Diving Instructor Course. It is also planned to run two more IDC's in May and Oct/Nov 2012. The May IDC & IE was a huge success with 5 successful candidates under Course Director Clive Albon's stewardship. Congratulations to Lotte, JT, Bell, Paddy and Ronnie. Onwards and upwards for all and we hope to see our Newquay friends again later in the season.

Further PADI Tec Rec Courses will follow although advanced booking will be required due to the more specialist, intensive nature and kit requirements of these projects. IDC Staff Instructor Neil Meston is now a PADI Self Reliant Instructor as is Dave Curphey and this adds further to the already wide range of courses offered by Utina's professional Diving Team. This course will appeal to a number of experienced divers and especially those who are keen on U/Water Photography. Whilst this course teaches self reliance as a diver, it no way detracts from the keenly supported basis of the PADI Buddy system. Please note that all PADI Specialty Courses offered by Utina now include the appropriate manual and certification.

We continue to offer Divemaster 'Internships' for customers contemplating either part or full time working in the diving industry. Every year we successfully provide enthusiastic divers wishing to place a foot on the ladder of a professional career. During the Divemaster Internship you learn about diving and the business of diving by diving along side our professional staff. You learn about dive planning, dive logistics, use of compressors, mixing gases and leading dives.

Last season finished on a high with superb support from our exisiting and new customers from the UK and Europe and also from www.tauchernet.com (the online german specialty dive website) and www.tripadvisor.co.uk another leading website specialising in holidays, recreation and activities catering for all. Take a look and you will find that we are the top diving establishment in Xlendi and the best in Gozo!
