PADI Jnr Open Water Course (Age10 - 15)
This is the certification course needed to dive safely anywhere in the world with a certified buddy. You will be qualified to dive to a maximum depth of 12 metres at the age of 10 & 11 and to 18 metres from age 12 to 15. All materials can be provided for a flexible home study option and knowledge review session at your convenience. Confined water sessions are followed by four open water-qualifying dives to gain your certification. Participants must be at least 10 years old at commencement of the course and have had completed a medical form.
Note: A PADI Jnr Open Water Diver between the ages of 10 and 12 years may only dive with a PADI Professional, a certified parent or certified guardian to a maximum depth of 12 metres/40 feet.
Course requirements:
Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn a PADI Junior Open Water Diver certification. If you are between 10 and 14 or have a child between these ages, there is a PADI Junior Open Water Diver program available.
Ability to swim 200 metres and float for 10 minutes.
The PADI Jnr Open Water Diver program covers:
Throughout the course, you’ll learn fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment and techniques. You earn this rating by completing confined water dives, 5 knowledge development sessions and by making 4 open water (ocean or lake) dives.
Duration:
PADI programs are performance based. You proceed as you demonstrate mastery of the course skills. This allows you to work at a pace that is comfortable for you. The course will normally take between 3 to 5 days
