The PADI Digital Underwater Photographer Specialty course provides you with the skills required to not only take photographs but at the same time it teaches you the basics of the use of of computer programs that enable you to enhance and edit your photographs. There are two course components:- DUP Level 1 and DUP Level 2. Level 1 teaches you the basics of 'point & shoot' photography underwater and Level 2 takes those core components to a higher level. Maximum depths will be limited by your training and experience. It is vital that you are able to master bouyancy control in order to take good pictures and we would always recommend that the PADI Peak Performance Bouyancy Specialty is a must and can count towards your Advanced Open Water Certification. For the DUP Course to count towards your Advanced Certification both Level 1 & 2 must be completed. During the course you will learn about composition, sunlight, positioning and angles when taking your pictures. You will learn about the PADI SEA Method (Shoot, Examine and Adjust) and also about downloading your photo's and the use of various file formats such as JPEG, TIF, BITMAP, PNG and RAW as well as the use of software such as Picassa, Photoshop and Photo Commander.
Course Requirements:
- PADI Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver certification (or qualifying certification from another organization)
- Minimum age: 10 years old

Recommended Course Hours: 6 hours
Minimum Open Water Training: two dives either on the same day or on separate days. Separate days are preferred as this will allow you time to look and study the photographs taken on your first dive and consider
Course Materials:
The course has its own specialist manual which you will require, a White Balance Card and a digital camera and housing. Students can rent a suitable camera at a small additional cots. The manual and certification are included in the cost. The manual can be sent to your home address so that you can begin the theory part of your course before you start your holiday in Gozo!
